Welcome
Welcome to our website where you for the following years will be able to go with us in our work, experiences and challenges during our post for Danish Evangelical Mission in Hawasa, Ethiopia.
On this website we will gradually put out newsletters, prayer requests and pictures for everyone, who takes an interest in this, to be able to go with and  engage in our life and work in Hawasa.
On the 14th of April 2009, we left for England, where Peter and Gitte went through 10 weeks of supplementary training at Allnation Christian College. In this period Esther and Sara joined Presdales School, which is a traditional English girl’s school.
In July 2009 we were back in Denmark for about four weeks until our departing for Ethiopia the 3rd of August.
On Sunday the 12th of July 2009 we had a service in our church for our consecration as missionaries. The church was all filled up and we had a fabulous service with friends and family visiting. After this we went to a gathering in our community with a barbeque and opportunity to worship and bring greetings.
The 3rd of august 2009 we left Denmark and early morning the 4th we arrived in Ethiopia. The first seven months we lived in Addis Ababa where Gitte and Peter studied at the Joint Language School to learn Amharic, which is one of the local languages. In March 2010 Gitte and Peter moved on to Hawasa to begin their work.
Esther and Sarah attend the International School Bingham Academy, where they enjoy making new friends from around the world.
When Peter and Gitte moved to Hawasa, Esther and Sara stayed in Addis Ababa to continue their education at BA.The rest of the school year they will stay at the Norwegian boarding, along with four other young Danes / Norwegians.
From the next academic year the Norwegian boarding will be closed and the girls will move to an international boarding for youngster from the organizations DEM, SIL and SIM.
